The Chairman ruled the resolution had been <br />adopted. <br />~b:5, <br />unanimously <br />The Board next considered Budget Amendment #05/06/91/18, <br />a copy of which is attached to these minutes, and upon this <br />reference, made a part hereof. Assistant County Manager <br />Beatrice Fields reviewed the amendment with the Board, <br />following which Commissioner Matthews moved to adopt Budget <br />Amendment #05/06/91/18. Commissioner Reives seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously <br />adopted. <br />Mrs. Fields then presented the Budget Project ordinance <br />for Project No. 9.945490 for clearing and grubbing tall pines <br />and seeding grass at the Sanford-Lee County Airport, a copy of <br />which is attached to these minutes, and upon this reference, <br />made a part hereof. Following a brief discussion, <br />Commissioner Hall moved to adopt the Budget Project Ordinance <br />for Project No. 9.945490. Commissioner Wicker seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the resolution had been unanimously <br />adopted. <br />Chairman Stafford recognized Mr. Bob Joyce, Director of <br />Administrative Services, who presented a request from Harnett <br />County to authorize them to provide public water service to <br />residents in Lee County along the route which the water line <br />follows through the edge of Lee County. The Board discussed <br />enforcing restrictions to prevent extensions being installed <br />from this line. Upon counsel from County Attorney K. R. <br />Hoyle, it was the general consensus of the Board that no main <br />line extensions be allowed without prior approval by the Lee <br />County Board of Commissioners and that the Lee County Building <br />Inspector's office should be notified of each application for <br />service in Lee County. Commissioner Matthews moved to adopt <br />the following resolution: <br />THAT WHEREAS, the County of Harnett, through its <br />Department of Public Utilities, operates and manages several <br />water distribution systems, some of which are owned by county <br />water and sewer districts created by the Board of <br />Commissioners of Harnett County under and by virtue of <br />authority set forth in Article 6 of Chapter 162A of the <br />General Statutes of North Carolina; and <br />7 <br />
