coos 13 ra« 795 <br />discussion, commissioner Matthews moved to pursue the study <br />of acquiring the Carolina Trace Water System, not expending <br />more than $1,000.00 from the water fund budget to accomplish <br />the pursuit, and pending approval from the Local Government <br />Commission. Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, and upon <br />a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Hall, Matthews, and Wicker <br />Nay: Paschal, Reives, and Stafford <br />Commissioner Cox was granted permission by the Board to <br />abstain from voting due to members of his family having a <br />financial interest in the Carolina Trace Water System. <br />Chairman Stafford then ruled that the motion did not carry <br />due to the lack of a majority vote. <br />Commissioner Hall moved to pursue the investigation of <br />purchasing the water system with no expenses incurred. <br />Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Hall, Matthews, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: Paschal and Reives <br />Commissioner Cox abstained from voting due to the <br />aforementioned circumstances as approved by the Board. The <br />Chairman ruled that the motion had been adopted by a four and <br />two vote. <br />There being no further business to come before the <br />session, Commissioner Hall moved that the meeting be <br />adjourned. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted <br />unanimously, and the meeting was adjourned. <br />William C.
