0 goon 13 pts.- 792 <br />denied by a six to one vote. <br />Votes were then cast for the original motion, and the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and <br />Wicker <br />Nay: Cox <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a six <br />to one vote. <br />The Board considered proposals for engineering services <br />for the 1990 Community Development Block Grant Project for <br />the Beulah Brown Road target area, a copy of which is <br />attached to these minutes, and upon this reference, made a <br />part hereof. Administrative Services Director Bob Joyce <br />reviewed these proposals with the Board. Commissioner Hall <br />moved to award the contract to Bracken and Associates. <br />Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted <br />unanimously. <br />Committee Reports was the next item on the agenda. <br />Commissioner Cox, Chairman of the Buildings, Grounds, and <br />Utilities Committee, gave a report on the May 16, 1991, <br />meeting. A request was reviewed by the Committee to locate a <br />mobile restaurant on the courthouse site. The Committee <br />unanimously voted to recommend to the Board denial of this <br />request. Commissioner Wicker moved to adopt the <br />recommendation of the Committee to deny the request. <br />Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted <br />unanimously. <br />Commissioner Cox also reported that the Committee <br />discussed housing the Board of Elections in the first floor <br />renovation project of the Lee County Government Center, which <br />is currently underway. County Manager William K. Cowan <br />presented drawings of the proposed office areas for the Board <br />of Elections. Commissioner Cox reported that if the Board of <br />Commissioners approves the change, the US Department of <br />Justice will have to be notified. The Justice Department, <br />5 <br />
