aoo~ 13 Pr,sc 788 40 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, May 20, 1991 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for <br />the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 7:00 <br />P.M. on Monday, May 20, 1991, in the Commissioners' Room on <br />the second floor of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker <br />Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were: <br />Commissioners Albert L. Cox, Bobby R. Hall, Bertha L. <br />Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, William C. <br />Stafford, Jr., and Gordon A. Wicker. Chairman Stafford <br />declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the <br />transaction of business. <br />Chairman William C. Stafford, Jr., presided, and the <br />following business was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Commissioner Wicker. <br />Having been duly advertised, Commissioner Hall moved <br />that the Board proceed to hold a public hearing on three <br />petitions for rezoning requests. Commissioner Wicker <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, <br />and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been unanimously <br />adopted and the public hearing was open. The Chairman <br />invited the Planning Board members to come forward. Mr. <br />Leonard Barefoot, Planning Director, presented drawings of <br />the property and answered questions from the two Boards for <br />the petition submitted by Gerald Womble for Central Carolina <br />Investors to change the zoning classification of a total of <br />53.8 acres of land on the southern side of Sheriff Watson <br />Road from Residential Agricultural District to Residential <br />Mixed District. <br />Mr. Gerald Womble appeared before the Boards stating <br />that the rezoning request is comparable to the zoning of the <br />surrounding properties. After all persons had been given an <br />opportunity to speak on this request, Mr. Barefoot presented <br />drawings of the property and answered questions from the <br />Boards for the following: <br />
