ngi 13 r~T= 8080 <br />The Board then recessed for lunch. Upon reconvening, <br />Commissioner Cox moved that the Board enter into an executive session <br />to discuss a land acquisition matter. Commissioner Matthews seconded <br />the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously and <br />the Board was in executive session. <br />Commissioner Matthews moved that the executive session be closed. <br />Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously and <br />the Board resumed its regular session. <br />Commissioner Hall moved to schedule a public hearing on the <br />Proposed Budget on Monday, June 17, 1991, at 7:00 P.M. Commissioner <br />Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously <br />Commissioner Wicker moved that the Board requests from the State <br />Legislature discretionary funds to pave the road leading to the Lee <br />County Landfill up to the area where the scales are located. <br />Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: Paschal <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a six to one <br />vote. Commissioner Paschal stated that there are other roads that <br />should have priority over this one for paving. <br />County Manager Cowan stated that Blue Cross/Blue Shield of North <br />Carolina has offered a Preferred Provider option for employees' <br />medical insurance coverage or the option to remain with the current <br />plan with a 23% rate increase. The Preferred Provider Option Plan <br />specifies certain hospitals with which Blue Cross/Blue Shield has <br />contracts for elective services. The employees were polled as to <br />6 <br />
