anon 13 fr,s= 8050 <br />Chairman Stafford recognized Mr. Leonard Barefoot, Planning <br />Director, who presented the Planning Board's recommendation to rezone <br />53.8 acres of land on the southern side of Sheriff Watson Road at the <br />southeast corner of the intersection of Edwards Road and Sheriff <br />Watson Road from Residential Agricultural District to Residential <br />Mixed District. Commissioner Hall moved to adopt the Planning Board's <br />recommendation to rezone the property. Commissioner Matthews seconded <br />the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mr. Barefoot reported that the petition submitted by Wendell <br />Johnson to rezone 21.8 acres of land located on the eastern side of <br />Jefferson Davis Highway approximately 800 to 1000 feet south of the <br />intersection at Wildlife Road from Residential Agricultural District <br />to Light Industrial District had been withdrawn. Mr. Johnson has <br />resubmitted a petition to rezone the property in question to Highway <br />Commercial. <br />Mr. Barefoot then informed the Board that the request submitted <br />by IFT Properties of Lee County, Inc. to rezone a portion of the 89.92 <br />acres tract of land located on the southern side of John Rosser Road, <br />beginning approximately 2000 feet from its intersection with Dixie <br />Farm Road, from Residential Agricultural District to Residential Mixed <br />Conditional Use District for the placement of a manufactured home park <br />was denied by the Planning Board. The Planning Board's denial was due <br />to strong opposition to the park by residents living in the area and <br />the large number of recently constructed manufactured home park spaces <br />in the general area. Commissioner Cox moved to support the Planning <br />Board's recommendation to deny the request. Commissioner Paschal <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mr. Barefoot presented the Planning Board's recommendation to <br />approve the abbreviated final plat of a subdivision of the Gobble <br />Heirs property by Central Carolina Investors. The property is the <br />same property in which the Board approved the rezoning request earlier <br />in the meeting. The subdivision will consists of two streets and <br />twenty-two lots which would be served by Harnett County Water System <br />and by individual septic tank systems. Questions of concern from the <br />Board were directed to Mr. Gerald Womble concerning the access to the <br />back portion of the property by a 30' right-of-way. Mr. Womble stated <br />3 <br />
