iatin~ 13 P,-a- 812 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />J <br />Monday, June 10, 1991 <br /> <br />The adjourned meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the <br />County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:00 A.M. on <br />Monday, June 10, 1991, in the Commissioners' Room on the second floor <br />of the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North <br />Carolina, the same being the time, date, and place specified in the <br />motion of adjournment. Those present were: Commissioners Albert L. <br />Cox, Bobby R. Hall, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. <br />Reives, William C. Stafford, Jr., and Gordon A. Wicker. Chairman <br />Stafford declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the <br />transaction of business. <br />Chairman William C. Stafford, Jr., presided, and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />Chairman Stafford requested that the Clerk to the Board read an <br />insertion into the approved minutes of the May 20, 1991, meeting. The <br />insertion involved action taken by the Board of Commissioners <br />requesting that the General Assembly consider giving the full Board of <br />Commissioners the authority to appoint its members to serve on the <br />Mental Health Board. Following a brief discussion, Commissioner Hall <br />moved to re-approve the minutes of the May 20, 1991, meeting as <br />corrected. Commissioner Wicker seconded the motion, and upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Wicker, Finance Committee Chairman, presented the <br />proposed 1991-1992 Fiscal Year Budget and the 1991-1996 Capital <br />Improvements Program. The Board discussed the proposed budget for the <br />upcoming year. <br />Following its budget work session, the Board met with the Youth <br />Services Commission to discuss various programs and funding within the <br />Department. The Board requested that the Youth Services Commission <br />review the programs' funding requirements as soon as possible and <br />report its recommendations to the Board. <br />1 <br />
