aobY D rrft 892 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, July 8, 1991 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:30 A.M. on Monday, July <br />8, 1991, in the Commissioners' Room on the second floor of the County <br />Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North Carolina. Those <br />present were: Commissioners Albert L. Cox, Bobby R. Hall, Bertha L. <br />Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, William C. Stafford, <br />Jr., and Gordon A. Wicker. Chairman Stafford declared a quorum <br />/ present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman William C. Stafford, Jr., presided, and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by Commissioner Reives. <br />The Board reviewed the minutes of the June 10, June 17, and June <br />27, 1991, meetings. The June 17th minutes were corrected. <br />Commissioner Cox moved that the drafts of the minutes be adopted as <br />the official minutes of said meetings and that they be recorded. <br />Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered bid awards for The Lee County Enrichment <br />Center. A copy of these bids is attached to these minutes, and upon <br />this reference, made a part hereof. Commissioner Cox reported that <br />the low bid was awarded to Wayne Brothers, Inc., of Davidson, North <br />Carolina, a single prime proposal in the amount of $874,000.00. The <br />Buildings, Grounds, and Utilities Committee recommended some changes <br />in the contract amount that would allow some cost savings on the <br />project. The contract amount would change from $874,000.00 to <br />$835,066.00. Commissioner Hall moved to award the bid to Wayne <br />Brothers, Inc- for $835,066.00 to construct The Lee County Enrichment <br />Center. Commissioner Wicker seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />1 <br />
