r <br />13 ~a 92?9 <br />motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman declared the vote had been adopted unanimously and <br />the public hearing closed. <br />The Board reviewed the minutes of the July 8, 1991, meeting. <br />Commissioner Cox moved that the draft of the minutes be adopted as <br />the official minutes of said meeting and that they be recorded. <br />Commissioner Wicker seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Chairman Stafford noted that the County's Quarterly Financial <br />Report reflected that the County operated within its budget during <br />Fiscal Year 1990-1991. He reported that 96.56° of the budget was <br />expended and that 100.90 of the County's revenues were collected. He <br />commended County staff for these outstanding results. <br />Commissioner Matthews moved to adopt the following resolution: <br />WHEREAS, the Honorable Warren Jake Wicker was born and reared in <br />Lee County, North Carolina; and <br />WHEREAS, the Honorable Warren Jake Wicker has retired from his <br />position as the Gladys Smith Coates Professor of Public Law and <br />Government at the Institute of Government, University of North <br />Carolina at chapel Hill, North Carolina; and <br />WHEREAS, Lee County desires to recognize the achievements and <br />express its appreciation for his contributions to the State of North <br />Carolina; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for <br />Lee County, North Carolina, as follows: <br />Section 1. That it congratulate the Honorable Warren Jake <br />Wicker for a career of public service which has been characterized by <br />a genuine interest in and concern for local government, kind and <br />considerate dealings with governmental officials and wise counsel and <br />scholarly research. <br />Section 2. That it wishes for the Honorable Warren Jake Wicker <br />continued success in all of his future endeavors. <br />Section 3. That the Clerk is directed to prepare and deliver to <br />the Honorable Warren Jake Wicker a certified copy of this Resolution. <br />2 <br />
