Assistant <br />County Manager Beatrice Fields stated that the upgrade of the <br />computer system, which will provide for an updated software program <br />for the Sheriff's office, has already been allocated in the budget. <br />Commissioner Cox moved that the County advertise for bids for a <br />computer upgrade and public safety software program. Commissioner <br />Hall seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board next considered a request to employ a consultant to <br />study and analyze the organizational structure, staffing levels, <br />procedures and work flows of the County maintenance operations at a <br />cost of $2S00. Commissioner Cox reported that the Buildings, <br />Grounds, and Utilities Committee recommended that David M. Griffith <br />and Associates be contracted to conduct the study. The Board <br />discussed the feasibility of hiring a consultant versus designating <br />the County Manager to conduct this study. Commissioner Reives moved <br />to adopt the Buildings, Grounds, and Utilities Committee's <br />recommendation to employ David M. Griffith and Associates to conduct <br />the study. Commissioner Paschal seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Matthews, Paschal, and Reives <br />Nay: Cox, Hall, Stafford, and Wicker <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been denied by a three to four <br />vote. <br />The Board considered a contract to employ an acoustics <br />consultant to perform a study on the Lee County Civic Center as <br />recommended by the Buildings, Grounds, and Utilities Committee. <br />Following a brief discussion, Commissioner Paschal moved to employ <br />Stewart Acoustical Consultants to perform the study at a cost not to <br />exceed $3,000. A copy of the contract is attached to these minutes, <br />and upon this reference, made a part hereof.
