BOOK 1 3 PbCC S9 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, August 19, 1991 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 7:00 P.M. on Monday, <br />August 19, 1991, in the Commissioners' Room on the second floor of <br />the County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, Sanford, North <br />Carolina. Those present were: Commissioners Albert L. Cox, Bobby R. <br />v! Hall, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, <br />William C. Stafford, Jr., and Gordon A. Wicker. Chairman Stafford <br />declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of <br />business. <br />Chairman William C. Stafford, Jr., presided, and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />The invocation was given by County Attorney K. R. Hoyle. <br />Having been duly advertised, Commissioner Hall moved that the <br />Board of Commissioners proceed to hold a public hearing on five <br />petitions for rezoning requests and a request to amend The Zoning.. <br />ordinance of,L.ee County, No.r.th Carolina. Commissioner Wicker <br />. <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been unanimously adopted and <br />the public hearing was open. The Chairman invited the Planning Board <br />members to come forward for the hearing. Ms. Leisa Powell, Planner, <br />presented drawings of the property and answered questions from the <br />two Boards for the petition submitted by A&W Investment Group to <br />rezone a total of approximately 107 acres of land located on the <br />southern side of Sheriff Watson Road beginning at a point <br />approximately SOO feet west from the intersection of Sheriff Watson <br />Road and Edwards from Residential Agricultural District to <br />Residential Mixed District. <br />Mr. Paul Adcock, who appeared before the Boards representing A&W <br />Investment Group, stated that the request would allow the property to <br />be subdivided for single family dwellings and single-wide and <br />double-wide manufactured homes. He noted that the surrounding area <br />has similar housing as would be developed on the property in <br />question. After all persons had been given an opportunity to speak <br />on this request, Ms. Powell presented drawings of the property and <br />answered questions from the Boards for the following: <br />1 <br />
