6U 14 tr;rZ 67 <br />C41 <br />schedule and advertise a public hearing to be held on October 21, <br />1991, at 7:00 o'clock P.M. on the adoption of a vested rights <br />ordinance as required by North Carolina General Statute 153-344.1. <br />Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Following a brief recess, the Board reviewed the draft of the <br />minutes of the September 3, 1991, meeting. Several corrections and <br />amendments were made. Commissioner Cox moved to adopt the minutes of <br />the meeting as amended and corrected as the official minutes of said <br />meeting and that they be recorded. Commissioner Paschal seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a request from Northview Fire Department tc <br />appoint Mr. Kevin Kirkman as a Firemen's Relief Fund Trustee. <br />Commissioner Matthews moved to adopt the Department's recommendation. <br />Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered the following resolution: <br />RESOLUTION ON THE JOB TRAINING PARTNERSHIP ACT SERVICE DELIVERY <br />AREA STATUS IN MID-CAROLINA <br />WHEREAS, the counties of Chatham, Lee, and Sampson are currently <br />designated by the Governor of North Carolina to administer and <br />distribute funds and services under the Job Training Partnership Act <br />of 1982, PL 97-300, as amended (hereafter called the JTPA); and <br />WHEREAS, Lee County does wish to continue and encourage a <br />Service Delivery Area configuration which respects the current <br />geo-political composition of the Mid-Carolina Service Delivery Area; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the Lee County Board of Commissioners does authorize <br />and direct the chairman, as chief elected official, to represent Lee <br />County on the consortium board; enter into contractual and other <br />agreements to establish the administrative entity, grant recipient, <br />5 <br />
