0 <br />Commissioner Reives moved to adopt Project No. 9.9454910 for clearing <br />tall pines, grubbing and seeding and Project No. 9.9454901 for the <br />update airport plan. Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, and upon <br />a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Cox moved to adopt the project ordinance for The <br />Enrichment Center of Lee County and to extend the date on the project <br />ordinance for the Community Resource Center, copies of which are <br />attached to these minutes, and upon this reference, made a part <br />hereof. Commissioner Paschal seconded the motion, and upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered the adoption of a proclamation recognizing <br />National Community Health Center Week. After a brief discussion, <br />Commissioner Matthews moved to adopt the following proclamation: <br />WHEREAS, quality health care should be available to everyone in <br />this country; and <br />WHEREAS, our system of health care must provide access for all <br />segments of our population, regardless of their financial resources, <br />in order for our community to be healthy and productive; and <br />WHEREAS, effective health care delivery must be tailored to the <br />needs and culture of the people being served; and <br />WHEREAS, the County of Lee is fortunate to have neighboring <br />community health centers offering comprehensive services to <br />individuals and families in the area, staffed by dedicated medical <br />personnel, administrators and volunteers; and <br />WHEREAS, our neighboring community health centers are part of a <br />nationwide system consisting of more than 600 community-based and <br />community controlled centers serving almost 6 million persons a year; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the community health center movement originated as a <br />War on Poverty program in 1965, and it has since established a <br />successful model of health care for medically underserved <br />communities; and <br />WHEREAS, the community health center movement continues to <br />advocate for the health care needs of the country's most vulnerable <br />9 <br />
