0 0 <br />b!D 14 <br />Following a brief recess, Chairman Stafford recognized Mr. Billy <br />Ray Cameron, Director of Sanford-Lee County Emergency Management, who <br />requested the Board's approval of an agreement between Lee County <br />Emergency Management and Parkview Retirement Center. Under the <br />agreement, Parkview Retirement Center will provide shelter for <br />special care patients in the event of a disaster at no cost to the <br />County, and in turn, Lee County will provide a generator for backup <br />power for this shelter. The generator will be stored and maintained <br />by Parkview Retirement Center; however, the generator will be County <br />property. In the event the generator is needed elsewhere by the <br />County, the County at any time, may remove the generator from <br />Parkview Retirement Center with no obligation to the retirement <br />center. <br />Following some discussion, Commissioner Hall moved that County <br />Attorney K. R. Hoyle assist in drafting the agreement with the <br />aforementioned stipulations included. Commissioner Paschal seconded <br />the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Chairman recognized Mr. P. N. Garner, Chief of the <br />Sanford-Lee County Volunteer Rescue squad, who requested financial <br />support for needed equipment. Following a discussion regarding the <br />Rescue Squad's needs, the Board directed Mr. Garner to submit a <br />request for funds for a vehicle for the Board's consideration in its <br />deliberations of the 1992-1993 Fiscal Year Budget. <br />The Board then considered matters relating to the Planning <br />Department, as presented by Mr. Leonard Barefoot, Planning Director. <br />Commissioner Cox moved to adopt the following requests as recommended <br />by the Planning Board: <br />1. Final plat approval of Hunters Ridge Subdivision, Section <br />II; <br />2. Final plat approval of Hunters Ridge Subdivision, Section <br />III; and <br />3. Forward a petition to the North Carolina Department of <br />Transporation from residents living along Martin Circle in <br />Quail Ridge Subdivision, requesting to be added to the <br />State's maintenance system. <br />Commissioner Paschal seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />4 <br />
