a~~ <br /> <br />noK 14- Prsr 111 <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mr. Barefoot stated that the Planning Board unanimously <br />recommended that the Board of Commissioners approve Lonnie Joe <br />Simmons' petition to rezone 1.02 acres of land located at 2813 <br />Jefferson Davis Highway from Highway Commercial District to Light <br />Industrial Conditional Use District to locate commercial storage of <br />propane gas above ground in quantities for distribution with the <br />following conditions: (1) A fence must be located which surrounds <br />the entire propane tank. (2) A final site plan showing compliance <br />with all requirements of Section 4 of T.,,h...e.,_,.._Zon.i_n.g.....0....r_di_nance.........o....f.__.Lee_ <br />County, North Carol,na,, as well as, showing the proposed location of <br />the required fence must be submitted to the Lee County Planning <br />Department for their approval. He stated that the Planning Board in <br />its deliberation cited the commercial nature of the property, as well <br />as, the property's access on a four lane highway. Commissioner <br />Paschal moved to adopt the request as recommended by the Planning <br />Board. Commissioner Wicker seconded the motion. Following a brief <br />discussion, Commissioner Hall proposed an amendment to the motion, <br />requiring that the operation meet all State safety regulations. Upon <br />a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mr. Barefoot stated that the Planning Board unanimously <br />recommended that the Board of Commissioners deny the petition <br />submitted by Benny A. and Linda Sloan to rezone 19.16 acres of land <br />located on the northern side of Longstreet Road beginning at a point <br />approximately 1100 feet west of the intersection of Longstreet Road <br />and Woodland Trails Road from Residential Agricultural and <br />Residential Mixed Districts to Residential Mixed Conditional Use <br />District to locate a manufactured home park on the property. He <br />stated that the Planning Board in its deliberation cited the numerous <br />other manufactured home park lots, as well as other manufactured home <br />subdivision lots, that are currently available in the area near the <br />Sloan's property. He stated that the Board also cited the fact that <br />the entrance to the proposed park is located on Longstreet Road, a <br />state maintained gravel road which is heavily traveled due to <br />extensive residential development which has occurred during the past <br />several years. Commissioner Paschal moved to adopt the Planning <br />Board's recommendation to deny the request. Commissioner Reives <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />4 <br />
