0 0 <br />~3 1=9 r;s: 194 <br />3. Requests for funds may be filed with the Lee County Parks <br />and Recreation Department at any time. Funds are budgeted on an <br />annual basis and become available after July 1, the beginning of each <br />new fiscal year. To qualify for the initial consideration of <br />matching grants, a matching grant request should be received by the <br />Director of the Lee County Parks and Recreation Department by August <br />10. A preliminary determination to award any or all requests (up to <br />the extent of depleting budgeted funds) may be made by the Lee County <br />Parks and Recreation Commission no later than its regular meeting in <br />September. Final approval for awarding the funds shall be given by <br />the Board of County Commissioners no later than its regular meeting <br />in November. Any monies remaining unmatched at this initial <br />determination may be matched at a later date not to exceed April 1 of <br />any fiscal year, on a first come, case by case basis. <br />4. The total amount of matching funds which any one group or <br />individual may request is equal to the total amount allocated for the <br />Matching Grant Fund. The Lee County ?arks and Recreation Commission, <br />however, with final approval by the Board of County Commissioners, <br />reserves the right to set the amount awarded to a recipient at any <br />value less than the total amount. Matching amounts will be no <br />greater than 50-50, and may be less. <br />5. Matching amounts from groups or individuals may be in the <br />form of cash or in goods or services of a comparable amount. The Lee <br />County Parks and Recreation Commission shall determine eligibility <br />and the total monetary value of the items presented for match. All <br />items and/or cash presented for match must be secured at the time of <br />the request for match. <br />6. Funds provided for match by the Lee County Parks and <br />Recreation Commission shall be spent through the County's accounting <br />structure with properly prepared purchase orders, invoicing, and <br />adherence to all established purchasing procedures. Projects shall <br />be approved and coordinated by the Parks and Recreation Director <br />and/or his designee before purchasing a.nd/or construction work <br />begins. <br />Following some discussion, Commissioner Cox moved to adopt the <br />revised policy as presented. Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, <br />and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />Chairman Stafford recommended that a updated list of the <br />County's parks, along with the addresses of the sites, be attached to <br />the policy for clarity. Commissioner Matthews moved to adopt the <br />Chairman's recommendation. Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, <br />and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />5 <br />
