He also stated that he and Sanford's Mayor, <br />Rex McLeod will serve as ex-officio members on the committee. <br />Commissioner Cox moved to adopt the following resolution: <br />WHEREAS, Mrs. Beatrice C. Fields was employed by Lee County, <br />North Carolina, on September 11, 1969; and <br />WHEREAS, Mrs. Beatrice C. Fields has served in various <br />capacities during her employment with Lee County, including Deputy <br />Tax Collector, Finance Director, Interim County Manager, Interim <br />Youth Services Director, and Finance Director/Assistant County <br />Manager; and <br />WHEREAS, Mrs. Beatrice C. Fields has performed all of her <br />assigned duties and responsibilities in a conscientious and <br />outstanding manner; and <br />WHEREAS, Mrs. Beatrice C. Fields has resigned her position as <br />Lee County Finance Director/Assistant County Manager to be effective <br />January 31, 1992; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of the Lee County Board of <br />Commissioners to recognize the achievements of Mrs. Beatrice C. <br />Fields and to express its appreciation for her dedicated service and <br />significant contributions to Lee County; <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Commissioners for <br />Lee County, North Carolina, that it congratulates Mrs. Beatrice C. <br />Fields for a career of public service which has been characterized by <br />a genuine interest in and concern for Lee County and that it wishes <br />for Mrs. Beatrice C. Fields continued success in all of her future <br />endeavors. <br />Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Chairman Stafford recognized Mr. Leonard Barefoot, Planner <br />Director, who presented the Planning Board's unanimous recommendation <br />to conditionally approve the petition submitted by Charles Branch to <br />rezone 3.25 acres of land located at 1409 Valley Road which is <br />located on the western side of Valley Road beginning at a point <br />approximately 2300 feet south of the intersection of Valley Road and <br />Forestwood Park Road. He stated that the Planning Board recommended <br />that the approval include the condition that, if another dwelling is <br />built on the same parcel, the manufactured home must be removed <br />before the other dwelling is occupied.
