Commissioner Hall moved to grant the <br />request. Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a matching grant award to the Sanford <br />Jaycees for improvements made to Dalrymple Park. Finance Committee <br />Chairman Reives stated that a two to one favorable recommendation was <br />rendered by the Committee. Commissioner Cox stated that he was <br />skeptical about the request, because of prior problems the Jaycees <br />had with the project. After further discussion, Commissioner Reives <br />moved to award $3375 in matching grant funds to the Sanford Jaycees <br />for improvements made to Dalrymple Park. Commissioner Hall seconded <br />the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: Cox <br />vote. <br />The chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a six to one <br />The Board considered the creation of a Temporary Tax Appraiser <br />position in the Tax Administration Department effective February 1, <br />1992. Mr. Nathan Crissman, Tax Administrator, stated that the <br />qualified person hired to fill the position would replace the current <br />Tax Appraiser upon his retirement on June 30, 1992. Creation of the <br />position at this time will lend additional help in completing the <br />data collection for the revaluation and allow the new person to train <br />in all other areas as needed for the Appraisal Department.
