t,- [ow, 11 ''•:{T. 252
L'
questions from the Board for the following request:
Petition submitted by Mr. Tommy Joe Cox and Mrs. Joyce Cox to
rezone approximately 7.0 acres of land located on the northern side
of Longstreet Road beginning at a point approximately 1150 feet west
of the intersection of Longstreet Road and Woodland Trails Road from
Residential Agricultural and Residential Mixed Districts to
Residential Mixed Conditional Use District. The petitioner proposes
to locate a nine-lot manufactured home park on the property.
Speaking in favor of the request, Mr. Stephen Cox, son of Mr.
Tommy Joe Cox, stated that the sandy soil on the property in question
is not conducive to farming and a manufactured home park would
facilitate some use of the property. Mr. Waylon Angel of 419 Berke
Thomas Road stated that too many manufactured home parks are located
in the vicinity already. Ms. Nell Owens of 701 Avents Ferry Road and
Ms. Delores Patterson of 622 Avents Ferry Road both spoke in
opposition to the request, stating that there are enough manufactured
homes in the area. After all persons had been given an opportunity
to speak on this request, Mr. Barefoot presented drawings of the
property and answered questions from the Boards for the following
request:
Petition submitted by Mr. H. E. Baber and Mrs. Mary Ruth Baber
to rezone 9.72 acres of land at 6930 Sheriff Watson Road which is
located at the northwestern corner of the intersection of Sheriff
Watson Road and Katherine Drive from Residential Agricultural
District to Residential Mixed Conditional Use District. The
petitioner proposes to locate a ten-lot manufactured home park on the
property.
Mr. Dan Sundberg of 6722 Sheriff Watson Road stated that the
area in which he lives consists of several single family stick-built
homes. He stated that he desires this type of development to
continue in the area. He also expressed his concern about the
ingress and egress of traffic at the sharp curve on Sheriff Watson
Road.
Mr. H. E. Baber stated that he currently plans to divide the
9.72 acres of property into eight lots. Two manufactured homes are
already located on this parcel. An additional six lots will be
divided in order to locate a manufactured home on each lot, making a
total of eight homes on the property under consideration. He stated
that he has two water meters on the site to tap onto the Harnett
County water system to serve these lots. After all persons had been
given an opportunity to speak on this request, Mr. Barefoot presented
drawings of the property and answered questions from the Boards for
the following request:
Petition submitted by Charles Ray Riddle to rezone 1.92 acres of
land at 1427 Riddle Road which is located on the north side of Riddle
Road beginning at a point approximately 1250 feet east of the
intersection of Colon Road and Riddle Road from Residential
5
