Relocate the Sanford/Lee County Airport to northern Lee <br />County to serve as a reliever facility for Raleigh-Durham <br />Airport. <br />Commissioner Wicker seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle stated that Lee County received a <br />memorandum from Michael Smith of the Institute of Government which <br />stated that counties do not have to pay the State for medical <br />expenses for safekeepers, unsentenced prisoners, held in State <br />facilities. Counties should pay, however, the $14.50 per day per <br />inmate rate as specified in the General Statutes. Mr. Hoyle stated <br />that the Lee County Jailer currently Pays $14.50 per day per inmate <br />for the service as recommended by Mr. Smith. Commissoner Hall moved <br />to continue paying the State the $14.50 per day rate only. <br />Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner- Hall moved to enter into executive session to <br />discuss a contractual matter. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, <br />and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously, and <br />the Board was in executive session. Following the discussion in <br />executive session, Commissioner Hall moved that the executive session <br />be closed and the public session resume. Commissioner Matthews <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye; Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Matthews moved to adopt the amended contract <br />between Sandhills Family Practice, Inc. and Lee County to provide <br />3 <br />
