0 0 <br />n 11 11 ,,f.`.. 2-19 <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board directed the Airport Commission to present the audit <br />report on Central Carolina Aviation, Inc. at the next scheduled Board <br />of Commissioners meeting. <br />The Board considered a request from Northview and Deep River <br />Fire Departments to approve the amended boundary descriptions for <br />five mile rated districts. Copies of these descriptions are attached <br />to these minutes, and by this reference, made a part hereof. <br />Commissioner Matthews moved to approve the amended boundary <br />descriptions. Commissioner Paschal seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Chairman Stafford displayed the "Adopt-A-Highway Volunteer <br />Award" presented to Lee County by the Governor's Highway <br />Beautification Council. The Chairman directed County Attorney K. R. <br />Hoyle to draft a resolution honoring the participants in the <br />volunteer program to be considered at the next scheduled meeting. <br />The Board scheduled the meetings for the Lee County Board of <br />Equalization and Review to be held on April 14 and 16, 1992, at 4:00 <br />P.M. in the Commissioners' Room at the Lee County Government Center. <br />Chairman Stafford announced that due to the Commissioners' <br />attending the NACo Legislative Conference in Washington, DC, March 2, <br />1992, the meetings for the month of March will be rescheduled from <br />March 2nd and 16th to March 9, 1992, at 9:30 A.M. and March 23, 1992, <br />at 4:00 P.M. <br />County Manager Cowan reported that. Secretary of Transportation <br />Thomas Harrelson sent a letter informing the Board of Commissioners <br />that the State's receipt of additional federal funds will allow the <br />State to provide additional transportation improvements this year. <br />Local governments have been requested to re-evaluate and prioritize <br />the transportation needs for their areas. After discussing the <br />matter, Commissioner Cox moved that the following requests be <br />presented for consideration by the North Carolina Department of <br />Transportation for the Transportation Improvements Projects: <br />H.g.hway....Zmprovements <br />1. US 421/NC 87 Bypass around Sanford <br />2. Widen US Highway 1 to a four lane divided freeway between <br />2 <br />
