1 4;' 265 MINUTES OF THE,REGULAR MEETING 11 OFD THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA Monday, March 9, 1992 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:30 A.M. on Monday, March 9, 1992, in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were: Commissioners Albert L. Cox, Bobby R. Hall, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, William C. Stafford, Jr., and Gordon A. Wicker; absent, Bertha L. Matthews. Chairman Stafford declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. Chairman William C. Stafford, Jr., presided, and the following business was transacted: Chairman Stafford congratulated the Lee Senior High School's Yellow Jackets and Lady Jackets basketball teams for winning the Southeastern Conference Tournament Championship. Lady Jackets Coach Carolyn Fowler and some of the team members were recognized. Commissioner Hall moved to adopt the following resolution: Whereas, the Lee Senior High School Lady Jackets basketball team defeated the Pinecrest High School basketball team by a score of 50-48 on Friday, March 7, 1992, to win the Southeastern Conference Tournament Championship; and Whereas, the Lady Jackets compiled a season's record of \ twenty-two wins and three losses; and Whereas, the Lady Jackets will now enter the 4-A State basketball play-offs; and Whereas, the Board of Commissioners desires to publicly acknowledge the achievements of the team and to thank them for the recognition they have brought to Lee County; Now, therefore, be it resolved as follows: Section 1.
