eco 11 Qr.~ 402 <br />Post office Road stated that he favored hunters obtaining written <br />permission from property owners for use of the land and to hunt with <br />rifles. Mr. Francis Wilmoth of 4317 Farrell Road opposed regulations <br />requiring written permission for hunting. Mr. Tom Poe of 5715 <br />Carbonton Road stated that the only problems he has experienced on <br />his property dealt with deer hunting and with four-wheel vehicles <br />destroying his deer stands and land. Mr. Monroe Morris of 313 First <br />Street, Broadway, stated that the rapidly growing residential areas <br />in Lee County and hunters must co-exist. He stated that the State <br />offers a hunters safety course and that there is public access <br />property on which people can hunt. Mr. Ray Backlund of 2823 John <br />Rosser Road, Mr. William Hancock, Jr., of 2200 Carthage Street, Mr. <br />David Eades of 1113 Pendergrass Road, Mr. Jimmy Ammons of 3831 <br />Farrell Road, Mr. George Riddle of 7811 Deep River Road stated that <br />they oppose enforcing restrictions on hunters. Mr. Julian Alman of <br />the North Carolina Wildlife Commission answered questions from the <br />public and the Board. Ms. Stephanie Thomas spoke in favor of <br />regulating hunting in Lee County and she related a personal <br />experience she encountered with two hunters on her property. <br />There being no else present wishing to speak on this issue, <br />Commissioner Cox moved to close the public hearing. Commissioner <br />Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, <br />Commissioner Wicker moved to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner <br />Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously and <br />declared the public session adjourned. <br />"e I g;4zz ezA~" <br />William C.
