X% <br />tm it TY ~r 401 <br />L <br />motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Hall moved to enter into executive session to <br />discuss contractual and land acquisition matters. Commissioner <br />Paschal seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously, and <br />the Board was in executive session. Following the Board's discussion <br />in executive session, commissioner Cox moved that the executive <br />session be closed and the public session resume. Commissioner Hall <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously, and <br />the Board was in public session. <br />The Board then recessed for dinner. The Board reconvened at <br />7:00 P.M. at the Lee County Office Building, 200 Wicker Street, <br />Sanford, North Carolina, on the second floor in the former <br />Commissioners' Room. Having been duly advertised, Commissioner <br />Paschal moved to open a public hearing to discuss recreational land <br />use rights. Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, and upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously, and <br />the public hearing began. <br />Chairman Stafford stated that he received a letter from Mr. Ed <br />Harris, who could not attend the meeting, expressing his views on the <br />issue. Ms. Laura Young of 7500 Deep River Road stated that <br />designated open space areas should be provided locally for hunting <br />and for "off the road vehicles".
