U <br />tong 11 rn <br />E <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Chairman Stafford recognized Mr. Robert C. Thomas, Commander of <br />General Robert E. Lee Camp #803, Sons of the Confederate Veterans, <br />who requested permission to fly the First National Confederate Flag <br />over the Lee County Courthouse on Sunday, May 10, 1992, Confederate <br />Memorial Day. Following a discussion, commissioner Paschal moved to <br />grant the request to fly the flag in proper flag etiquette with the <br />United States Flag over the Lee County Courthouse on Sunday, May 10, <br />1992. Commissioner Wicker seconded the motion. After further <br />discussion, Commissioner Hall moved to table the motion. <br />Commissioner Cox seconded the motion. The Board voted on the tabled <br />motion, and the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Reives <br />Nay: Matthews, Paschal, Stafford, and Wicker <br />The Chairman ruled that the motion to table the original motion <br />was denied. <br />The Board then voted on the original motion, which was to grant <br />the Sons of the Confederate Veterans permission to fly the First <br />National Confederate Flag over the Lee County Courthouse on Sunday, <br />May 10, 1992. The results were as follows: <br />Aye: Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: Cox <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a majority <br />vote. <br />The Chairman recognized Ms. Pam Adams, Director of Senior <br />Services, who requested that Lee County Senior Services be designated <br />as the lead agency for the planning and development of the Lee County <br />Aging funding plan and to designate the Lee County Senior Citizens <br />Advisory Board to serve as the advisory committee to work with the <br />lead agency. Following a discussion, commissioner Paschal moved to <br />grant the request. Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Wicker moved to adopt the following resolution: <br />3 <br />
