North Carolina Generfil ^ Statutes. Failure to aintain such <br />compliance shall automatically terminate the franchise herein <br />granted. Said Article 7 sets forth standards for ambulances, <br />equipment and personnel. <br />Section IV. This franchise shall exist and continue for a <br />period of one year from the date the franchise is granted, unless <br />earlier terminated as herein set forth. <br />Section V. Sandhills Ambulance Service, Inc., is authorized <br />to provide ambulance services in the following ambulance service <br />area: Sanford and all of Lee County, North Carolina. <br />Section VI. SANDHILLS AMBULANCE SERVICE, INC. <br />It will be the responsibility of Sandhills Ambulance <br />Service, Inc., to dispatch its own ambulances. Sandhills <br />Ambulance Service, Inc., will maintain and disseminate its <br />telephone number (toll free) so that the same will be accessible <br />to its patrons. Upon receipt of a call by the Lee County <br />Emergency Communications Center for assistance of a non-emergency <br />or convalescent ambulance service request, the requestor will be <br />provided with the telephone numbers of non-emergency and <br />convalescent providers in Lee County. <br />Section VII. Sandhills Ambulance Service, Inc., shall <br />continuously maintain liability insurance on both its employees <br />and ambulances in at least the amounts it stated in its <br />application, or in such amount as may be required under the laws <br />of the State of North Carolina or its agencies, whichever amount <br />is greater. <br />Section VIII. Sandhills Ambulance Service, Inc., recognizes <br />that the primary ambulance provider in Lee County is the Lee <br />County Department of Emergency Medical Services, and agrees that <br />it will operate its non-emergency and convalescent ambulance <br />service in a manner not inconsistent with the rules, regulations <br />and protocols of the Lee County Department of Emergency Medical <br />Services, and the directions of the Advances Life Support Medical <br />Director for Lee County. <br />Section Ix. Sandhills Ambulance Service, Inc., shall keep <br />and maintain all of the records required of it by the State of <br />North Carolina and by Lee County, and will permit representatives <br />of Lee County to inspect its records, premises and equipment at <br />any time in order to assure compliance with the requirements of <br />Lee county. <br />
