0 0 <br />ti001 1=~ pmi- 398 <br />house at the Lee County Government Center on April 5th from 3:00 - <br />5:00 P.M., the Board of commissioners' meeting on April 6th at Lee <br />County Senior High School, along with lunch and a tour of the high <br />school, a reception sponsored by CEAD to be held at the courthouse to <br />meet the candidates on April 6th at 6:30 P.M., and a dedication <br />ceremony of the Lee County Civic Center on April 8th at 6:30 P.M. <br />with a performance by the US Air Force Tactical Air Command Band. <br />Commissioner Hall moved to adopt the following proclamation: <br />Whereas, Governor Martin has proclaimed the week of April 5 <br />11, 1992, as Public Health Week in North Carolina; and <br />whereas, the public health facilities in Lee County serve <br />thousands of our citizens each year; and <br />Whereas, public health assures a cleaner, safer, more wholesome <br />environment in which to live; and <br />Whereas, healthful living is the major prevention of the <br />financial burdens of disease and chronic illness; and <br />Whereas, concerned, informed and active citizens will ensure a <br />healthy future for Lee County; <br />Therefore, the Lee County Board of Commissioners proclaims April <br />5 - 11, 1992, as Public Health Week in Lee County. <br />Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered the second reading of the franchise <br />applications submitted by Nova Medical Transport, Inc. and by <br />Sandhills Ambulance Service, Inc., copies of which are attached to <br />these minutes, and upon this reference, made a part hereof. <br />Following some discussion, Commissioner Hall moved to adopt the <br />franchises. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />2 <br />
