0 0 ti001 1=~ pmi- 398 house at the Lee County Government Center on April 5th from 3:00 - 5:00 P.M., the Board of commissioners' meeting on April 6th at Lee County Senior High School, along with lunch and a tour of the high school, a reception sponsored by CEAD to be held at the courthouse to meet the candidates on April 6th at 6:30 P.M., and a dedication ceremony of the Lee County Civic Center on April 8th at 6:30 P.M. with a performance by the US Air Force Tactical Air Command Band. Commissioner Hall moved to adopt the following proclamation: Whereas, Governor Martin has proclaimed the week of April 5 11, 1992, as Public Health Week in North Carolina; and whereas, the public health facilities in Lee County serve thousands of our citizens each year; and Whereas, public health assures a cleaner, safer, more wholesome environment in which to live; and Whereas, healthful living is the major prevention of the financial burdens of disease and chronic illness; and Whereas, concerned, informed and active citizens will ensure a healthy future for Lee County; Therefore, the Lee County Board of Commissioners proclaims April 5 - 11, 1992, as Public Health Week in Lee County. Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. The Board considered the second reading of the franchise applications submitted by Nova Medical Transport, Inc. and by Sandhills Ambulance Service, Inc., copies of which are attached to these minutes, and upon this reference, made a part hereof. Following some discussion, Commissioner Hall moved to adopt the franchises. Commissioner Cox seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker Nay: None 2
