Funding for the study is being provided by <br />the U.S. Department of Agriculture. <br />Background <br />In early 1991, the Board of Commissioners approved the Lee County Transportation <br />Development Plan. That plan called for six (6) county and nonprofit agencies: <br />• Lee County Department of Social Services <br />• Lee County Department for the Aging <br />Central Carolina Community College <br />Lee-Harnett Area Mental Health <br />• Lee County Industries, Inc. <br />• Center for Independent Living, Inc. <br />• <br />to consolidate client transportation services under the auspices of a single management <br />entity.
