MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, April 6, 1992 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:30 A.M. on Monday, <br />/ April 6, 1992, in the Forum Room of the Library Building at Lee <br />County Senior High School, 1708 Nash Street, Sanford, North Carolina. <br />v Those present were: Commissioners Albert L. Cox, Bobby R. Hall, <br />Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, William C. <br />Stafford, Jr., and Gordon A. Wicker. Chairman Stafford declared a <br />quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman William C. Stafford, Jr., presided, and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />Commissioner Matthews introduced Reverend Lisa Cole, minister of <br />Lemon Springs United Methodist Church, who delivered the invocation. <br />Chairman Stafford recognized Assistant Principal of Lee County <br />Senior High School Mike Ingram, who welcomed the Commissioners and <br />County staff. Chairman Stafford thanked the school staff on behalf <br />of the Board for allowing the Commissioners to meet at the school in <br />order to share a portion of county government and some of its roles <br />with the students in conjunction with County Government Week. <br />The Board reviewed the draft of the minutes of the March 23, <br />1992, meeting. After noting a correction, commissioner Cox moved to <br />adopt the minutes as the official record of said meeting as <br />corrected. Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a <br />vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Chairman recognized Ms. Valencia Burford, a high school <br />student representative serving on the Lee County Youth commission. <br />Commissioner Reives commended Ms. Burford for her service and her <br />helpful input as a member of the Youth Commission. <br />1 <br />
