MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA Monday, April 6, 1992 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:30 A.M. on Monday, / April 6, 1992, in the Forum Room of the Library Building at Lee County Senior High School, 1708 Nash Street, Sanford, North Carolina. v Those present were: Commissioners Albert L. Cox, Bobby R. Hall, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, William C. Stafford, Jr., and Gordon A. Wicker. Chairman Stafford declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. Chairman William C. Stafford, Jr., presided, and the following business was transacted: Commissioner Matthews introduced Reverend Lisa Cole, minister of Lemon Springs United Methodist Church, who delivered the invocation. Chairman Stafford recognized Assistant Principal of Lee County Senior High School Mike Ingram, who welcomed the Commissioners and County staff. Chairman Stafford thanked the school staff on behalf of the Board for allowing the Commissioners to meet at the school in order to share a portion of county government and some of its roles with the students in conjunction with County Government Week. The Board reviewed the draft of the minutes of the March 23, 1992, meeting. After noting a correction, commissioner Cox moved to adopt the minutes as the official record of said meeting as corrected. Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford, and Wicker Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. The Chairman recognized Ms. Valencia Burford, a high school student representative serving on the Lee County Youth commission. Commissioner Reives commended Ms. Burford for her service and her helpful input as a member of the Youth Commission. 1
