The area is kept neat and clean and he
will select renters to put homes on the lot.
Individuals speaking in opposition of the request were David
Ezzell, Jack Morgan, Jimmy Whitaker, Jeff Hunter and Beth Suggs, all
neighbors from Poplar Springs Church Road. All individuals stated
there were no present problems but felt that if more lots were added
problems could be created. Individuals having recently built new
homes in the area did not want to see the value of their homes go
down, and there are many empty mobile home lots in the neighbor at
this time.
Rezoning request submitted by Karl Lewis to rezone from
Residential Agriculture District to Light Industrial Conditional Use
District approximtely 384 acres of land locted at the intersection of
Colon Road and US Highway 1. The petitioner proposes to locate a
planned business development with industrial, child care, and
recreation facilities, as well as billboard advertisement, on the
property.
Individuals speaking in opposition were Mary McKennon, William
Kotcamp of 1810 Colon Road, and George McRae of 7500 Deep River Road.
The main concerns were heavy traffic for the area.
Rezoning request submitted by Jack C. and Alice A.
