STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />COUNTY OF LEE <br />THIS AGREEMENT, made and entered into this the day of <br />1992, by and between the CITY OF SANFORD, a <br />municipal corporation chartered by the State of North Carolina, and <br />located in Lee County, North Carolina, hereinafter referred to as <br />"City", and the COUNTY OF LEE, a municipal corporation chartered <br />by the state of North Carolina, and located in North Carolina, <br />hereinafter referred to as "County", <br />WITNESSETHi <br />WHEREAS, the City operates a vehicular maintenance garage, and <br />presently has a facility which is capable of maintaining a larger <br />fleet, and is willing to contract with the County to maintain a <br />portion of its vehicular fleet, upon the terms and conditions set <br />forth; and <br />WHEREAS, the County is willing to contract with the city to <br />maintain a portion of the County's vehicular fleet upon the terms <br />and conditions set forth, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, in Consideration of the premises, the mutual <br />promises herein contained; and the sum of Ten Dollars, each to the <br />other paid; the parties have mutually agreed as follows: <br />1. City agrees to maintain the County's vehicles contained <br />in the attached list (Exhibit A) and any vehicles which may be <br />purchased by the County which are incidental and similar in nature <br />to this list. The City will furnish the garage facility, all <br />labor, parts, and supplies necessary for proper vehicle <br />maintenance. <br />2. City agrees to employ adequate personnel not to exceed two <br />(2) Mechanics 11 which will be assigned to maintain County <br />vehicles; two (2) Mechanics II which will be assigned to maintain <br />city vehicles; a Purchasing Clerk; an Auto Aide; and a Shop <br />Superintendent which will service both City and County vehicles. <br />All employees will be accountable to and under the direct <br />supervision of the Shop Superintendent. Whenever the mechanics <br />have completed the governmental units maintenance for which they <br />are assigned, then the Shop Superintendent may, at his discretion, <br />reassign them to work on the other agency's vehicles. <br />3. City agrees to furnish an adequate amount of bays within <br />the garage to be used by the City for the maintenance of County <br />vehicles; and make available on a sharing basis, the front-and <br />alignment bay, heavy truck bay, welding shop and car wash area. <br />9. City agrees to make available one (1) mechanic during <br />emergency situations, inclement weather conditions, and at any time <br />when requested by the County. Subject to changes by the Shop <br />Superintendent to increase availability of mechanics, the regular <br />shop hours will be from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m, with one (1) hour for <br />lunch. <br />5. City agrees to make available one (1) Auto Aide to wash <br />County and City vehicles on request. <br />6. City agrees to make available through the Shop <br />Superintendent the following reports and services: <br />(a) A monthly summary of vehicle expenses by department <br />which includes miles per gallon, gallons of fuel, quarts of <br />motor and hydraulic oil, transmission fluid, tires, cost of <br />parts, and labor (Exhibit B). <br />I/ <br />
