e00~ 1 Y s~ 607 3 to
her family's property is a legal matter between the Seymore family
and the Department of Transportation and is not relevant to Mr.
Lewis' rezoning petition. Fred Webb dissented stating that since
Mr. Lewis' petition is for a conditional use, the property's
zoning would remain Residential Agricultural District if Mr.
Lewis' project is not developed.
5. Rezoning Petition - Jack C. and Alice Ann Maxwell.
The Planning Board unanimously recommends that the Board of
Commissioners deny the petition by Jack C. and Alice Ann Maxwell
to rezone approximately 87 acres of land at the southwestern
corner of Cedar Lane Road and Jefferson Davis Highway (excluding
the portion of the parcel which is currently zoned Highway
Commercial District) from Residential Agricultural District to
Residential Mixed District. The Planning Board in its
deliberation cited the residential and agricultural character of
the area, their concern about the negative impact from increased
traffic, and the impact a major subdivision of the property would
have on farms in the area. The Planning Board also noted James
Stone's, the Maxwell's real estate agent, comments during the
public hearing that the subdivision would be primarily used for
single-wide manufactured homes and cited the availability of other
manufactured home subdivision lots in the area.
6. Rezoning Petition - A&W Investment Group.
The Planning Board unanimously recommends that the Board of
Commissioners deny the petition by A&W Investment Group to rezone
81.47 acres of land located on the northern side of Peach Orchard
Road beginning at a point approximately 2800 feet east of the
intersection of Rocky Fork Church Road and Peach Orchard Road from
Residential Agricultural District to Residential Mixed District.
The Planning Board in its deliberation cited its concerns that the
lots would be used primarily for single-wide manufactured homes,
particularly in consideration of the availability of other
manufactured home lots in the area.
Please feel free to contact me if you have questions
concerning these agenda items.
