Board of Commissioners Meeting. The hearing was advertised in the Sanford Herald <br />on May 24, 2018. Chair Dalrymple opened the public hearing for comments. <br />The following people spoke in favor of the recommended budget (It is noted that the <br />people who spoke in favor also advocated for funding of additional Student Resource <br />Officers): <br />- Stuart Shumway, Head of School at Grace Christian, 3205 Weatherwood Ct, <br />Sanford, NC <br />- Ashley Wilson, 1710 Carthage Street, Sanford, NC <br />- Bob Finch, 1414 Carthage Street, Sanford, NC <br />- Brian Moultis, 3731 South Plank Road, Sanford, NC <br />- Arianna Del Palazo, 425 Rolling Hill Rd, Sanford, NC <br />- Adam Reeves, 744 Azalea Drive, Sanford, NC <br />- Alicia Kennedy, 452 Clearwater Harbor, Sanford, NC <br />No one spoke in opposition to the budget. <br />Chair Dalrymple closed the public hearing. <br />B. Public Hearing for the proposed fire district tax rates for FY 2018-2019. <br />County Manager John Crumpton provided a recap of the proposed fire district tax <br />rates for FY 2018-2019. The Board voted to hold a public hearing for this time and date at <br />the May 21, 2018 Board of Commissioners Meeting. The hearing was advertised in the <br />Sanford Herald on May 24, 2018. Mayor Andrews had previously provided that all fire <br />departments have had their respective public hearings. Chair Dalrymple opened the public <br />hearing for comments. No one spoke in favor or against the proposed fire distract tax rates <br />for FY 2018-2019. Chair Dalrymple closed the public hearing. <br />C. Public Hearing for the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) for FY 2019- FY 2023. <br />County Manager John Crumpton provided a summary of the proposed Capital <br />Improvements Plan for FY 2019-2023, which was presented to the Board on May 7, 2018. <br />The Board voted to hold a public hearing for this date and time at the May 7, 2018 Board <br />of Commissioners meeting. The hearing was advertised in the Sanford Herald on May 24, <br />2018. Chair Dalrymple opened the public hearing for comments. No one spoke in favor or <br />in opposition to the proposed Capital Improvement Plan for FY 2019 -FY 2023. <br />Chair Dalrymple closed the public hearing. <br />D. Public Hearing for Contract and Appropriation of $330,000 for Economic <br />Development Services with the Sanford Area Growth Alliance. <br />County Attorney Whitney Parrish stated that there were modifications to the contract <br />last fiscal year that remain in the renewal contract. The renewal includes an updated list of <br />the Board of Directors provided by SAGA. The Board voted to hold a public hearing for the <br />$330,000 in expenditures appropriated to SAGA for economic development services for <br />this time and date at the May 21, 2018 Board of Commissioners Meeting. The hearing was <br />advertised in the Sanford Herald on May 24, 2018. Chair Dalrymple opened the public <br />hearing for comments.
