MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING OF THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS FOR THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA J May 4, 1992 The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:30 A. M. on Monday, May 4, 1992, in the Commissioners Room, Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were: Commissioners Albert L. Cox, Bobby R. Hall, Bertha L. Matthews, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, William C. Stafford, Jr., and Gordon A. Wicker. Chairman Stafford declared a quorum present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. Chairman William C. Stafford, Jr., presided, and the following business was transacted: Commissioner Stafford introduced County Attorney, K. R. Hoyle, who delivered the invocation. The Board reviewed the draft of the minutes of the April 20, 1992, meeting. After noting a correction, commissioner Matthews moved to adopt the minutes as the official record of said meeting as corrected. Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. Mr. William K. Cowan, County Manager, requested that Myra P. Johnson had resigned as Clerk to the Board and that the Board needed to appoint someone to serve in that capacity. Mr. Cowan reported that he had employed Gaynell M. Beal to be his Administrative Assistant and recommended that she be considered for the appointment. Commissioner Paschal nominated Gaynell M. Beal for appointment as the Clerk to the Board of Commissioners to serve at the pleasure of the Board as provided in General Statute 153A-111. Commissioner Matthews seconded the nomination.
