400!S . nor: f P <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Cox moved to recess the meeting for dinner and to <br />reconvene at 7:00 P.M. for the scheduled public hearings. <br />Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously and <br />the meeting recessed in keeping with the motion. <br />The meeting reconvened at 7:00 P.M. in the Commissioners' Room, <br />Lee County Government Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North <br />Carolina, with Commissioners Cox, Hall, Paschal, Reives and Wicker in <br />attendance. Chairman William C. Stafford, Jr., was absent and <br />Vice-Chairman Albert L. Cox presided in his absence. <br />Commissioner Hall moved that the Board hold joint public <br />hearings with the Lee County Planning Board on matters of mutual <br />concern as advertised and scheduled for this date and time. <br />Commissioner Paschal seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Paschal, Reives and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />Vice Chairman Cox ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Vice Chairman invited the Planning Board members to join the <br />Commissioners for the joint public hearings. Mr. Leonard Barefoot, <br />Planning Director, presented the following: <br />a. Rezoning request submitted by Willie Godfrey to rezone <br />from Residential Agricultural District to Highway Commercial District <br />a total of 13.67 acres of land located at the intersections of <br />Nicholson Road and Juniper Creek Road to construct a small community <br />store to sell gas, food and supplies. <br />The following individuals spoke in favor of the rezoning <br />request: Willie Godfrey, Joe Godfrey, Jimmy Allen Johnson, Ronnie <br />Turner, Roger Wicker, Anthony Douglas, Ronnie Godfrey, and James <br />Pate. <br />No one spoke in opposition of the request. <br />b. Rezoning request submitted by W. H. Cooper to rezone <br />from Residential Agricultural District to Highway Commercial District <br />6 <br />
