Finance Director Crumpton reported that he had <br />obtained proposals from Wachovia Bank & Trust Company, J Lee Peeler & <br />Company, Inc. and Alex Brown & Associates. Mr. Crumpton recommended <br />that the County employ J. Lee Peeler & Company, Inc. and introduced <br />Mr. John Barnes, Jr., a representative of that company. After some <br />discussion Commissioner Reives made a motion to hire J. Lee Peeler & <br />Company, Inc. as the Financial Advisor. Commissioner Paschal <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered an authorization for the Finance Director <br />to execute a declaration of official intent of the County to <br />reimburse itself with the proceeds of the bonds for any expenditures <br />incurred by it prior to the issuance of the bonds. Commissioner <br />Reives made a motion to authorize the execution of the declaration of <br />official intent to reimburse. Commissioner Paschal seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered providing health/life insurance coverage <br />for the Lee County Commissioners. Coverage will cost $12,012 per <br />year if all board members were covered by the Lee County <br />comprehensive major medical service program.
