nv 14 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />Monday, May 18, 1992 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 4:00 P.M. on Monday, May <br />18,1992, in the Commissioner's Room, Lee County Government Center, <br />106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present were: <br />Commissioners Albert L. Cox, Bobby R. Hall, Nathan E. Paschal, Robert <br />T. Reives, William C. Stafford, Jr., and Gordon A. Wicker. <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews was absent due to her confinement in <br />J the Wake Memorial Hospital. Chairman Stafford declared a quorum <br />present and the meeting open for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman William C. Stafford, Jr., presided, and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />Chairman Stafford delivered the invocation. <br />The Board reviewed the draft of the minutes of the May 4, 1992, <br />c meeting. Commissioner Hall moved to adopt the minutes as the <br />official record of said meeting. Commissioner Paschal seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a proposed Senate Bill to go to the General <br />Assembly to form the Sanford-Lee County Regional Airport Authority. <br />Three members of the authority will be appointed by the Board of <br />Aldermen of the City of Sanford and three members will be appointed <br />by the Board of Commissioners. All members will serve at the <br />pleasure of the Board that made the appointment. After some <br />discussion, Commissioner Hall made a motion to adopt the proposal. <br />Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />1 <br />
