0 0 <br />~ Ma <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered Tax Refunds and Releases for April, 1992. <br />Nathan Crissman, Tax Administrator answered questions from the Board. <br />Commissioner Cox moved to approve the tax refunds. Commissioner Hall <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />K. R. Hoyle, County Attorney discussed a proposed County Noise <br />Ordinance. No action was taken on the matter. <br />The Board considered a proposal to perform a county line survey <br />on the Harnett/Lee County line. Bob Joyce, Administrative Services <br />Director stated the Building, Grounds and Utility Committee had <br />recommended that Tommy Matthews be awarded a contract for surveying <br />the county line. The purpose of this survey will resolve some <br />differences in the exact location of the line, particularly in the <br />Buckhorn Road area were the Channel 40 television tower is located. <br />The following bids were received: <br />Tommy Matthews $ 4,900 <br />Dowell Eakes 5,600 <br />Bracken & Associates 6,900 <br />Michael Cain 140,000 <br />After some discussion commissioner Cox made a motion for Chairman <br />Stafford to contact Harnett County officials to discuss the situation <br />and determine if they would consider dividing the cost of the survey <br />between the two units of government. Commissioner Paschal seconded <br />the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board recessed for lunch. The chairman announced that the <br />Board would reconvene at 1:00 P.M. Following lunch, Architect Ed <br />Fitchett discussed the list of bidders for the recent Lee County/Jail <br />Courthouse Project. After receiving bids for the project and adding <br />the costs of furnishings, architect's fees and professional fees, the <br />project's total cost is estimated at $9,545,614, more than $845,614 <br />over the $8.7 million voters approved in the 1990 bond referendum. <br />After some discussion Commissioner Hall made a motion to proceed with <br />6 <br />
