approval of W.H. Cooper's petition to rezone 8.85 acres of land <br />located at 2905 Jefferson Davis Highway from Residential Agricultural <br />District to Highway Commercial District. Commissioner Wicker moved <br />to adopt the Planning Board's recommendation. Commissioner Cox <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mr. Barefoot stated the Planning Board unanimously recommends <br />approval of A & W Investment Group's petition to rezone 81.47 acres <br />of land-located on the northern side of Peach Orchard Road beginning <br />at a point approximately 2800 feet east of the intersection of Rocky <br />Fork Church Road and Peach Orchard Road from Residential Agricultural <br />District to Residential Mixed Conditional Use District for the <br />location of a major subdivision with approximately 17 lots on the <br />property, restricting the types of manufactured homes permitted on <br />the property to Class A and Class B manufactured homes. <br />Commissioner Hall moved to adopt the request. Commissioner Reives <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mr. Barefoot stated the Planning Board unanimously approved the <br />final plat of Winding Creek Farm Subdivision, Section 5, which is <br />being developed by Van Harris. After some discussion commissioner <br />Wicker moved to adopt the request. Commissioner Hall seconded the <br />motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mr. Barefoot stated upon considering whether additional <br />information was necessary to make a recommendation to the Board of <br />Commissioners concerning Karl Lewis's tabled petition to rezone <br />approximately 387 acres of land located at the intersection of Colon <br />Road and U.S. Highway 1 from Residential Agricultural <br />District to Light Industrial Conditional Use District for the <br />location of a planned business development with industrial, child <br />care, and recreational facilities, as well as billboard advertisement <br />on the property, a majority of the Planning Board stated that they <br />did not feel that an additional public hearing is warranted. The <br />Planning Board also maintained their initial recommendation to deny <br />the petition which they felt was based on unsound planning <br />3 <br />
