boos 14 1 ns~ 68a' <br />seconded by Commissioner Wicker and was unanimously adopted. <br />At 9:30 A.M. the Chairman of the Board of commissioners <br />announced that the Board would hear anyone who wished to be heard on <br />the questions of the validity of the refunding bond order and the <br />advisability of issuing the refunding bonds. At the direction of the <br />Chairman, the Clerk of the Board of Commissioners read the refunding <br />bond order and the published notice of hearing. <br />After the Board had heard all persons who requested to be heard <br />in connection with the foregoing questions, commissioner Wicker moved <br />that the public hearing be closed. The motion was seconded by <br />commissioner Cox and was unanimously adopted. <br />Commissioner Hall moved that the Board of Commissioners of the <br />County of Lee adopt without change or amendment and direct the Clerk <br />of the Board of Commissioners to publish as prescribed by The Local <br />Government Bond Act the bond order entitled, "BOND ORDER AUTHORIZING <br />THE ISSUANCE OF $9,000,000 GENERAL OBLIGATION REFUNDING BONDS OF THE <br />COUNTY OF LEE," introduced at the meeting of the Board of <br />Commissioners held on May 18, 1992. The motion was seconded by <br />Commissioner Cox and was adopted by the following vote: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Absent: Matthews <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a petition requesting a public hearing on <br />the creation of an airport authority by Laura Young of Deep River <br />Road. After some discussion Chairman Stafford informed Ms. Young a <br />public hearing will be held at a later date. No date/time has been <br />set. <br />Chairman Stafford recognized Mr. Leonard Barefoot, Director of <br />Planning, who presented several recommendations from the Planning <br />Board. He stated the Planning Board unanimously recommended that the <br />Board of Commissioners approve a portion of Willie Godfrey's petition <br />to rezone property located at the intersection of Nicholson and <br />Edwards Roads from Residential Agricultural District to Highway <br />Commercial District. Commissioner Cox moved to adopt the Planning <br />Board's recommendation. Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, and <br />upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mr. Barefoot stated the Planning Board unanimously recommends <br />2 <br />
