~rau~ 691 <br />N; <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br /> <br />JUNE 10, 1992 <br />/ **,t**,t*,t,t******,t,t*,k,t***,t**,t****,t**,t********,t*,t*****,t*************,t**t <br />V <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:30 A.M. on Wednesday, <br />June 10, 1992, in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government <br />center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present <br />were: Commissioners Albert L. Cox, Bobby R. Hall, Nathan E. Paschal, <br />Robert T. Reives, William C. Stafford, Jr., and Gordon A. Wicker. <br />Commissioner Bertha L. Matthews was absent due to recent back <br />surgery. Chairman Stafford declared a quorum present and the meeting <br />open for the transaction of business. <br />Chairman William C. Stafford, Jr., presided, and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />The Board went over and reviewed the FY 92-93 budget. <br />Commissioner Reives, Chairman of the Finance Committee encouraged <br />residents in the rural fire districts to attend the public hearing <br />that will be held on Monday, June 15, 1992, at 7:00 P.M. to become <br />more aware and more familiar with what they may be facing in the <br />upcoming 92-93 budget year. Citizens living in the West Sanford fire <br />district are particularly encouraged to attend the public hearing <br />because fire taxes will probably be raised in this district. <br />County Manager William Cowan and Finance Director John Crumpton <br />answered various questions of the Board in response to budget <br />recommendations and concerns. <br />Chairman Stafford stated no decision would be made on the budget <br />until after the public hearing on June 15, 1992. <br />There being no further business to come before the Board, <br />Commissioner Cox moved to adjourn the meeting. Commissioner Hall <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />-1- <br />
