509
Bill Cooper Jr., of 4915 St. Andrews Church Road explained
why the rezoning is needed. Propane tanks will be fenced in a
locked, fenced area to serve farmers, homes, businesses, etc.
There are certain state regulations that be gone by for these
tanks. Approval had been given by the Sanford Fire Marshall.
Ronnie Campbell, Chief of the Northview Fire Department
stated he had no problem with the rezoning request but had
some concerns as to why the Sanford Fire Marshall would give
approval when the Northview Fire Department will be the one to
handle a fire/problem at the area.
George McRae of 7500 Deep River Road requested if the
rezoning request is granted that something be placed in front
of the tanks to block the view.
No one spoke in opposition of the request.
b. Rezoning request by William Kottcamp to rezone from
Residential Agricultural District to Highway Commercial
District 0.705 acres of land located on the eastern side of
Colon Road at the southwestern corner of Colon Road and
Birchard Road.
Mr. Jeff Ward, Attorney for Mr. Kottcamp presented a
petition to the Planning Board signed by surrounding neighbors
showing they were not protesting his rezoning request and
answered questions from the Planning Board. Others speaking
in favor of the request were Mrs. Phyllis Kottcamp, wife of
William Kottcamp, Mr. Kottcamp's mother, Mrs. Therlene
Kottcamp, David Tarpey of 1317 Brick Yard Road, Oscar
Kottcamp, and Mrs. Rose Crone of 1812 Colon Road. None of
these individuals saw a problem with the request.
Ms. Laura Young of 7500 Deep River Road had a concern about
the amount of rezoning that had been done lately. She also
expressed concern about the speed limit posted in the area and
felt it should be lowered.
No one spoke in opposition of the request.
C. Rezoning request by Clara Cameron to rezone from
Residential Restricted District to Residential Agricultural
Conditional Use District approximately one acre of land at
4123 Harvey Faulk Road to locate a new single wide
manufactured home on the property to replace the older
existing single wide manufactured home.
Ms. Sherry Cameron of 3547 Highway 87 South, daughter of
Clara Cameron, explained that her mother would like to replace
a 1976 mobile home currently on the lot for a new 1992 mobile
home.
No one spoke in opposition of the request.
At this time Commissioner Cox made a motion to resume the
regular meeting and finish items on the agenda that had not
been finished when the dinner recess was voted upon.
34
