She told the Commissioners they were not hearing <br />the people of Lee County, who did not want a new airport. <br />Ms. Jackie Cole of 4225 Lower Moncure Road wanted to know <br />the location of the new proposed airport and industrial park. <br />Mr. David Tarpey of 1317 Brickyard Road submitted a sheet <br />of questions to Mr. Cowan for response concerning the new <br />airport. <br />Mr. George McRae by 7500 Deep River Road had concerns about <br />the $500,000 for a new landfill. <br />Mr. Hubert Garner of 805 Lee's Chapel Road thanked the <br />Commissioners for listening to the public and asked that money <br />be put back in the budget for the Downtown Redevelopment <br />Program. <br />Mr. Everette Brooks of 1409 Brintwood Place also asked that <br />money be put back in the budget for the Downtown Redevelopment <br />Program. <br />Commissioner Hall made a motion to close the public hearing <br />after no one else wished to speak. Commissioner Cox seconded <br />the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Commissioner Cox moved to conduct a public hearing <br />concerning matters of rezoning requests. Commissioner Wicker <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously <br />and the Planning Board members joined the Commissioners for <br />the joint public hearings. Mr. Leonard Barefoot, Planning <br />Director, presented the following: <br />a. Rezoning request by William H. Cooper to rezone from <br />REsidential Agricultural District to Light Industrial District <br />10.17 acres of land on the western side of Beechtree Drive. <br />,3.3 <br />33 <br />
