Commissioner <br />Hall seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered the Elderly, Handicapped and Transportation <br />Grant for Senior Services. Debbie Davidson from Senior Services <br />explained to the Board that The Public Transportation and Rail <br />Division of North Carolina Department of Transportation has allocated <br />Lee County $18,378.00 in FY 1992-93 funding for Elderly and <br />Disabled Transportation Assistance (E&D TAP), and $2,700.00 in <br />Medicaid Transportation Assistance (MTAP) for pregnant women and <br />children on Medicaid. These funds are allocated to supplement <br />current funding sources with the intent to provide additional <br />operating assistance for transportation services within the County. <br />The State provides 100% of the funding with no local match required. <br />The grant would be used as follows: <br />Center for Independent Living $4,865.00 <br />Lee County Industries 4,865.00 <br />Lee County Senior services 8,648.00 <br />Lee County Health Department 2,700.00 <br />Commissioner Reives made a motion to accept the $18,378.00 grant. <br />Commissioner Hall seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Chairman Stafford recognized Mr. Leonard Barefoot, Director of <br />Planning, who presented several recommendations from the Planning <br />Board. He stated the Planning Board unanimously recommended that the <br />Board of Commissioners approve Mr. William H. Cooper's request to <br />rezone 10.17 acres of land on the western side of Beechtree Drive <br />from Residential Agricultural District to Light Industrial District, <br />excluding the portion of the property which is in the City of <br />Sanford's extraterritorial planning jurisdiction. Commissioner Hall <br />moved to adopt the Planning Board's recommendation. Commissioner <br />Matthews seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as <br />follows: <br />4 <br />
