<br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING
<br />OF
<br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS
<br />FOR
<br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA
<br />MONDAY, JULY 13, 1992

<br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County
<br />of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 10:00 A.M. on Monday,
<br />July 13, 1992, in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government
<br />Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present
<br />were: Commissioner Albert L. Cox, Bobby R. Hall, Bertha L. Matthews,
<br />Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, William C. Stafford, Jr., and
<br />Gordon A. Wicker. Chairman Stafford declared a quorum present and
<br />the meeting open for transaction of business.
<br />Chairman William C. Stafford, Jr., presided and the following
<br />business was transacted:
<br />Commissioner Bobby R. Hall delivered the invocation.
<br />The Board reviewed the draft of the minutes of the June 15,
<br />1992, and June 22, 1992 meetings. After noting corrections,
<br />commissioner Hall moved to adopt the minutes as amended as the
<br />official record of said meetings. Commissioner Cox seconded the
<br />motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows:
<br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives and Stafford
<br />Nay: Wicker
<br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a six to one
<br />vote.
<br />The Board considered the Annual Secondary Road Construction
<br />Program for Lee County. Messrs J. A. Clendenin and F. E. Whitesell,
<br />from the Department of Transportation was present to present the plan
<br />and answered questions from the Board. After some discussion
<br />Commissioner Paschal moved to accept the recommendation and the
<br />following resolution.
<br />WHEREAS, The North Carolina Department
<br />anticipated a July, 1992, allocation of $161,460
<br />Construction and $72,381 in Secondary Road Trust
<br />$233,841 for the forthcoming construction season
<br />was held on July 13, 1992, in the Commissioners'
<br />County Government Center in Sanford, North Carol
<br />expenditures of said funds:
