CJ~ <br />3 <br />WHEREAS, it is anticipated that the creation of said new <br />airport will result in the cessation of aviation operations at the <br />Sanford Airport and thereby vitiate the need for the Commission; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sanford and County of Lee desire to <br />vest one body with the supervision of the present, and future, <br />airports of Lee County; and <br />WHEREAS, the Resolutions provide for their amendment by <br />joint action of the governing boards of the City of Sanford and <br />County of Lee; and <br />WHEREAS, the City of Sanford and County of Lee desire to <br />amend the Resolutions by abolishing the Commission and transferring <br />its powers, authority, duties and obligations to the Authority. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of Alderman of <br />the City of Sanford as follows: <br />Section 1. The Commission is hereby abolished, and all of <br />its powers, authority, duties and obligations as set forth in the <br />Resolutions are hereby terminated. <br />Section 2. All such powers, authority, duties and <br />obligations regarding the supervision and operation of the Sanford <br />Airport , to the extent not in conflict with the Act, are hereby <br />transferred and granted to the Authority. In any and all cases of <br />conflict between the Resolutions and the Act the terms and provisions <br />of the Act shall control and take precedence over those of the <br />Resolutions. <br />Section 3. All resolutions of the Board of Alderman of the <br />City of Sanford in conflict herewith are hereby repealed. <br />Section 4. This resolution shall be in full force and <br />effect from and after August 3, 1992, and upon adoption of the Board <br />of Alderman of the City of Sanford, whichever date shall be later. <br />Commissioner Hall moved to adopt the above resolution. <br />Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Board considered a service agreement for provision of <br />residential services to Harnett County.
