After the <br />voting process was completed, ballots were passed to County Attorney, <br />K.R. Hoyle for tabulation. After the votes were counted, Mr. Hoyle <br />informed the Board of the following results: <br />Commissioner Wicker voted for O.A. Keller, III, Jerry Lawrence <br />and Johnny Bridges. Commissioner Matthews voted for Jerry Lawrence, <br />William Pretty and O.A. Keller, III. Commissioner Reives voted for <br />O.A. Keller, III, William Pretty and Jerry Lawrence. Commissioner <br />Cox voted for O.A. Keller, III, William Pretty and Jerry Lawrence. <br />Commissioner Hall voted for O.A. Keller, III, William Pretty and <br />Jerry Lawrence. Chairman Stafford voted for O.A. Keller, III, Jerry <br />Lawrence and William Pretty. Commissioner Paschal voted for Johnny <br />Bridges, Jerry Lawrence and O.A. Keller, III. <br />Chairman Stafford declared that O.A. Keller, III, William Pretty <br />and Jerry Lawrence would be the three representatives from the County <br />on the Sanford-Lee County Regional Airport Authority. <br />The Board considered the following resolution creating the joint <br />Airport Commission: <br />AMENDMENT TO PREVIOUS RESOLUTION CREATING <br />JOINT AIRPORT COMMISSION <br />WHEREAS, Chapter 63 of the North Carolina General Statutes <br />provides for the joint ownership and operation of airports by cities <br />and counties; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to this authority the City of Sanford and <br />the County of Lee adopted resolutions on June 1, 1976 and June 7, <br />1976, respectively (the "Resolutions"), creating an airport <br />commission to operate the Sanford-Lee County Airport ("Sanford <br />Airport"); and <br />WHEREAS, the commission thereby created was to be known as <br />the Sanford-Lee County Airport Commission ("Commission"), and has <br />since supervised operations at the Sanford Airport; and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to Senate Bill 998, Chapter 903 of the <br />1992 Session (the "Act"), the General Assembly of North Carolina <br />recently created an airport authority to be known as the "Sanford-Lee <br />County Regional Airport Authority" ("Authority"); and <br />WHEREAS, pursuant to the Act said Authority has been <br />granted, among other things, the power to establish, construct, <br />maintain, operate and regulate a new airport on lands acquired by it <br />within Lee County; and <br />2 <br />
