The public auction will be held on Saturday, the 29th day of August, 1992, at 10:00 A.M. at The Lee County Civic Center. The terms of the sale shall be cash. 4. The Clerk to the Board shall cause a notice of the public auction to be published in accordance with G.S. 153A-176 and G.S. 160A-270(b). Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion. After further discussion, Commissioner Matthews amended the original motion to delete the mapping printing machine from the list of surplus property to be sold. Commissioner Hall seconded the motion. Upon a vote on the amended motion, the vote was as follows: Aye: Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker Nay: Cox The Chairman ruled the amended motion had been adopted by a six to one vote. Upon a vote for the original motion to hold an absolute auction, the vote was as follows: Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives and Stafford Nay: Wicker vote. Mr. William Cowan, County Manager, recommended to the Board that Child's Auction be awarded the bid of auctioneer at a rate of 5 1/2% of sales. Other bids received were from: Woodell Auction Company 9% of the sale Burge Realty & Auction 15% of the sale Commissioner Cox moved to award the bid to Child's Auction at 5 1/2% of sales. Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker Nay: None The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. 13
