N <br />i' <br />soon 81.7 <br />0 13 <br />2. The County Manager is authorized to dispose of the <br />property at public auction. <br />3. The public auction will be held on Saturday, the 29th <br />day of August, 1992, at 10:00 A.M. at The Lee County Civic Center. <br />The terms of the sale shall be cash. <br />4. The Clerk to the Board shall cause a notice of the <br />public auction to be published in accordance with G.S. 153A-176 and <br />G.S. 160A-270(b). <br />Commissioner Matthews seconded the motion. After further discussion, <br />Commissioner Matthews amended the original motion to delete the <br />mapping printing machine from the list of surplus property to be <br />sold. Commissioner Hall seconded the motion. Upon a vote on the <br />amended motion, the vote was as follows: <br />Aye: Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: Cox <br />The Chairman ruled the amended motion had been adopted by a six <br />to one vote. <br />Upon a vote for the original motion to hold an absolute auction, <br />the vote was as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives and Stafford <br />Nay: Wicker <br />vote. <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted by a six to one <br />The Board considered approval of auctioneer services for the <br />public auction. Mr. William Cowan, County Manager, recommended to <br />the Board that Child's Auction be awarded the bid of auctioneer at a <br />rate of 5 1/2% of sales. Other bids received were from: <br />Woodell Auction Company 9% of the sale <br />Burge Realty & Auction 15% of the sale <br />Commissioner Cox moved to award the bid to Child's Auction at 5 1/2% <br />of sales. Commissioner Reives seconded the motion, and upon a vote, <br />the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />13 <br />
