coos f 805 <br />MINUTES OF THE REGULAR MEETING <br />® OF <br />THE BOARD OF COMMISSIONERS <br />FOR <br />THE COUNTY OF LEE, STATE OF NORTH CAROLINA <br />MONDAY, AUGUST 3, 1992 <br />The regular meeting of the Board of Commissioners for the County <br />of Lee, State of North Carolina, convened at 9:30 A.M. on Monday, <br />August 3, 1992, in the Commissioners' Room, Lee County Government <br />Center, 106 Hillcrest Drive, Sanford, North Carolina. Those present <br />were: Commissioner Albert L. Cox, Bobby R. Hall, Bertha L. Matthews, <br />Nathan E. Paschal, Robert T. Reives, William C. Stafford, Jr., and <br />Gordon A. Wicker. Chairman Stafford declared a quorum present and <br />the meeting open for transaction of business. <br />J Chairman William C. Stafford, Jr., presided and the following <br />business was transacted: <br />County Attorney K. R. Hoyle delivered the invocation. <br />The Board reviewed the draft of the minutes of the July 13, 1992 <br />meeting. After noting a correction, Commissioner Wicker moved to <br />® adopt the minutes as amended as the official record of said meeting. <br />Commissioner Paschal seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the <br />results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />Mr. Raymond Brookins of 3901 Lower Moncure Road presented to the <br />Board the results of a recent airport survey conducted through the <br />use of The Sanford Herald. He requested that the Commissioners put <br />an airport survey on the November ballot. After some discussion <br />Commissioner Matthews moved to have a referendum concerning the new <br />airport on the November ballot. The Chairman ruled the motion died <br />for lack of a second. <br />The Board considered appointments to the Sanford-Lee County <br />Regional Airport Authority. Commissioner Paschal nominated Johnny <br />Bridges, Commissioner Hall nominated O.A. Keller, III, and Comm- <br />issioner Reives nominated William (Bill) Pretty. Commissioner <br />Matthews moved that nominations be closed. Commissioner Paschal <br />seconded the motion. The Chairman did not act upon the motion and <br />commissioner Wicker nominated Jerry Lawrence. Ballots were <br />• <br />1 <br />
