SG9 5 <br />accepting Mr. Raymond Womble <br />Sports Volunteer of the Year: Mr. Bob Hales <br />Distinguished Citizen of the Year: Mr. Charles Ingram <br />Commissioner Cox moved that the Board hold joint public hearings <br />with the Lee County Planning Board on matters of mutual concern as <br />advertised and scheduled for this date and time. Commissioner Hall <br />seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results were as follows: <br />Aye: Cox, Hall, Matthews, Paschal, Reives, Stafford and Wicker <br />Nay: None <br />The Chairman ruled the motion had been adopted unanimously. <br />The Chairman invited the Planning Board members to join the <br />commissioners for the joint public hearings. Mr. Leonard Barefoot, <br />Planning Director, presented the following: <br />A. Rezoning request submitted by Sandra Thomas to rezone <br />1.16 acres of land on the western side of Highway 87 South at 100 <br />Winstead Road from Residential Restricted District to Highway <br />Commercial Conditional Use District for the location of a commercial <br />produce stand. <br />Ms. Sandra Thomas spoke in favor of the rezoning request stating <br />she wished to get the area farmers involved in selling produce. She <br />had talked with neighbors who were in agreement to the request and <br />felt it would be an asset to the community. This would only be used <br />for seasonal purposes and only for the selling of produce. <br />No one spoke in opposition of the request. <br />B. Rezoning request submitted by Steve Tysinger for SCT <br />Developers to rezone 46.59 acres of land at 5728 Peach Orchard Road, <br />immediately northwest of the previously approved Triple Lakes Sub- <br />division Phase I, from Residential Agricultural District to <br />Residential Mixed Conditional Use District for the location of Triple <br />Lakes Subdivision Phase II, a nine-lot major subdivision. <br />Mr. Steve Tysinger spoke in favor of the rezoning request. He <br />stated that 90 acres beside his property had recently been rezoned so <br />he decided to turn his land into a subdivision which would be an <br />extension to the present subdivision. <br />No one spoke in opposition of the request. <br />Commissioner Hall made a motion to close the public hearings. <br />Commissioner Wicker seconded the motion, and upon a vote, the results <br />5 <br />
